We had some friends come over, made some homemade burgers, drank some yummy wine, indulged in peaches and ice cream, and enjoyed the beginning of our summer nights.
My favorite part is when the sun went down and I could turn on the canopy of lights we had over head. It is all so very pretty and perfect! Now on my shopping list is a very long vintage farm table... I think it would be perfect for our outside dining area.
Oh Summer... I dislike your heat during the day, but I love your nice and perfectly cool evenings at night! What do you like to eat or do for your summer nights outside?
I feel the same way about summer. I think I'm a little nocturnal. You won't see me out in the heat during the day, but oh the cool nights and sitting under the stars is heaven. I love your lights!
ReplyDeleteHa! Great minds think alike..I am also on the lookout for a long farm table for my back patio....
ReplyDeletehow perfect!!
Love your light canopy!!
I love the lights! I have some but still trying to figure out a way to hang them on my balcony (in an apartment). What kind of burgers did you all make?

ReplyDeleteYes, LOVE the lights, Rubyellen. I sure do wish summer would come to stay here in Portland so that we could have such lovely nights!
ReplyDeletei am totally jealous. Portland, Oregon could learn a thing or two about summer behavior. like that the sun should be out warming shoulders and grey skies should disappear to the netherlands.
ReplyDeleteUh. I live in Northern AK. We have 24 hours of sunlight until August. So, we sit outside and watch the kids play in our dirt yards. (Since only a few people have grass) P.S. we still have snow.
ReplyDeleteThat's about it. :)
I might have a small tip for you, about the long vintage table..
ReplyDeleteWe made our own one with wood they used in constructions. I don't realy know the English word for it, we call it "steigerplanken". Using this wood, the table looks very vintage and sooo pretty! We're also going to make a closet with it.
