a little love garland

Cut out some red hearts from some fabric.

Cut some hearts from some brown kraft tissue paper.

Zig zag stitch them onto some white yarn and you got yourself a little love garland.

And sweetly hang it over your bed.

Plus, it makes it a bit more cheery with my newly thrifted granny square afghan. I just love this newest find. The colors are so happy!

I must say that I am not in the greatest of moods today. Ben and I fought last night (see we are SO normal) and we have our moments. I am in a poo-poo love mood today. Just wanted to be honest. That's all. I am sure the happiness will resume soon, but maybe that is after Ben and I talk (but I am in no mood to talk) and I stop yelling (I am in the mood to only yell). Yup. That's right. I yell! And loud too!!! God definitely needs to soften my heart because I am super mad. Maybe, it will be softer tomorrow. We'll see...

  1. I've been looking for an afghan just like that...the colors are amazing!!! It does make one feel happy to see such cheery colors! I love your love garland, too. :)

Hope you & Ben start talking soon...we had one of our arguments last week that led to a whole week of the silent treatment from both of us....not fun. I hate when we argue, but it's fun to make up. :)

  5. Well, there's always the make-up time to look forward to!! ;) Anyone who doesn't get upset once in a while is just not being honest!!!
I love your little love garland!! Read the quote I just posted today-- I bet that's how Ben feels about you!

  6. i so appreciate your honesty. for awhile I kind of thought maybe you and your family were perfect :) it's so comforting to know you're more human than I thought. It is so awesome of you to be vulnerable about it with complete strangers, like me!

  7. It's kind of affirming to know I'm not the only one who can feel terrible for posting about love stories while having had an argument with her own love.

I'm thankful for a patient and forgiving husband. I get the feeling your Ben is one of those, too.

And I know full well about waking up mad and wanting to start the day with yelling. We're all there from time to time, mama.

Your blanket=prettiest one I've ever seen thrifted.

  8. That afghan is amazing, and to hear you thrifted it gives me hope that I'll maybe have such luck some day to find one half as beautiful! I'd like to learn to crochet granny squares, but I keep collecting hobbies and I'm trying to focus my creative outlet into sewing... it's hard to resist though.

And I completely appreciate your vulnerability in sharing about your fight. I think if all of us were more real about our hearts, we'd experience more of God's grace in our lives and relationships. My husband and I have a hard time expressing frustration with each other, and end up letting it just trickle into our lives without realizing we need to adjust our perspectives and soften our hearts as well.

Thanks again for sharing, you have a beautiful family!
