I first fell in love with the moustaches made by the super genius husband and wife team of Something's Hiding In Here a few years ago. As soon as I saw their moustaches, I knew it would be the perfect thing to help celebrate Ben's birthday and indeed it was (see celebration here) and we loved them so much that it also made it to that year's Christmas card.
Well, Stephen and Shauna are wanting to raise awareness for "Movember" and with that they are giving one of their moustaches to one of you!
What is Movember?
What is Movember?
Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember has grown into a global movement inspiring more than 1.1 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate. No matter the city or country, Movember strives to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, and to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
On November 1st, you can register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
In 2010, over 64,500 US Mo Bros and Mo Sistas helped spread the word! Now you can do so also.

Now, I tried to convince Ben to grow one again in November for Movember, but it really wouldn't work too well right now because of his work. So I am just going to reminisce back to when he had his beard and would make some of his own types of 'staches as he slowly shaved it off. My Ben is quite funny! Come on Ben, you sure you can't grow it back?!!
So if you want to win one of their lovely moustaches, all you have to do is leave a comment in this post telling me if you have a moustached man in your life (and if you don't, just tell me your favorite moustache from here). Those overseas are welcomed to join in! Giveaway ends Tuesday at 8am PST.
My dad has a moustache. Actually, he has had one my whole life, though one time he did shave it off and my siblings and I thought he looked mighty strange. Thankfully he grew it back.
This is such a great cause because we definitely need to make sure our men are aware of the health risks they face. Ben's grandfather had prostate cancer (and beat it) and so did his dad, so Ben has always been very conscious about his health and makes sure to get his regular check ups. Also, until November 30th, Stephen and Shauna are donating 100% of the profits from their moustache on a stick to Movember. So here's to a wonderful Movember of showing support for the health of all the men in our lives!

ReplyDeleteSoul is so cute with the Moustache.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby grows his in November and the redness in it is amazing.

ReplyDeleteMy university promotes the Movember so the boys here are talking about it. My boyfriend has a full beard but I couldn't convince him to shave it off. He is, however, trying to find as many people as possible to support his office mate to take part.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a goatee so I guess he has a mustache and a little extra.
ReplyDeletemy mister has a full red beard. don't think he'll be shaving it any time soon. maybe if i show him this post he'll do it. hmmm....i need that mustache for my little guys birthday please.
ReplyDeleteaaaw it's such a great idea - Movember! :) I have a friend, who sometimes grows a moustache and hmmm I like it when he does :D I should tell him about movember and maybe he could do it this year! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never liked a mustache but your family made it look so cute!! :) Soul is uber cute too. love her!
ReplyDeleteNica

My dad has a moustache and my mom's such a pushover that she trims it for him! I tried to trim it once, but cut his lip really badly by accident...sorry dad...
ReplyDeleteha! i love mustaches!! unfortunately i don't have have a mustache man!! =)
ReplyDeletethe man in my life is usually mustached, but not while he interns at a hospital this year :)
ReplyDeleteyay Movember! ☮
Soul looks awesome with her mustache!
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't really generate enough facial hair for a good mustache, so he could really use a wooden one. However, my brothers in law both have some pretty amazing facial hair.
This is so adorable! Soul is the cutest. I only wish I had a mustached man in my life! xo, rv

Love this! I have a bearded man. I've only seen my husbands face once in the past 6 years. He's my mountain man.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend Wishes!
hugs,
Fritzi Marie
There is no way I could convince my husband to grow a mustache. But it'd be awesome!
ReplyDeletehaha, love the mustaches! my dad has always had a mustache, which he will never shave off. i don't think i'd recognized my dad without it!
ReplyDeletemy hubby sports a mustache and has since he reached puberty! I think its a Cuban thing, but I love it!! My dad also had a mustache when I was little, but shaved it off and it sure is a shock!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try REAL hard and talk my mister into doing it this year, in 8 years I've never seen him with facial hair! Both of my uncles have had mustaches my whole life...
ReplyDeleteMy sister and i have never seen our Dad without his burly fireman's mustache. Now, I only get to see him once a year or so. Last visit, he said he was about to shave it the week before. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have recognized him at the airport!
ReplyDeleteMy dad has always had a mustache (& beard). He shaved once when I was a toddler and I cried for 2 weeks because I didn't recognize him. Supposedly I look like him under all that facial hair but I'd rather have him with a red beard & stache any day. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIf dad didn't already have a mustache I know he would participate in this. He had colon cancer, found by a routine colonoscopy a few years ago. He tells everyone over 50 to go. Adamantly until they make an appointment. Just one of the reasons he is awesome.
my dad (on my parents wedding day)

I have two (sort-of)...
ReplyDeleteMy dad has had a mustache my whole life! And my husband grows a mustache every year for Halloween... his costume is always something that requires one :)
My husband does Movember every year. He can get pretty creative with it too. I have to say, I miss the beard he usually has, but it is such a great cause! We're hoping to get my brothers-in-law to do it with him this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know many guys with a moustache/beard. And among all of them I think only one of them can really pull off the look. Might be because we're Asian hmmm. And I hate it when my boyfriend doesn't shave, cos I find the stubble really itchy when we kiss. So I don't think he'll be keeping one soon. Would like to give him one he could put on and take off teehee :D
ReplyDeletejohn rocks a goatee! ... I wonder how he'd look with a 'stache?!?!?!
ReplyDeletebtw - i'd like to steal soul.
I am happy to say I have three moustached men in my life. They make it more fun!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is bearded and stached right now... if only it was for movember. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Is that Ben with a beard? Hugs to cute little Soulie, now a moustache for Glowie? Her whole little face will probably disappear...!
ReplyDeleteOh yes — moustached and bearded! He looks soooooo strange without facial hair! Movember all the way!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great giveaway. :) My dad used to have one, but over time it slowly disappeared!
ReplyDeletemy brother-in-law is in the navy and the only facial hair that they are allowed is "the mustache". each deployment just for kicks, he & a few of his fellow officers grow out the worst mustaches ever. my sister has a collection of photographs of all the amazing places brandon has visited ... of course w/ brandon in the middle w/ his sick 'stache!
ReplyDeleteMy dad always changes up his facial hair styles, but usually has the stache.
ReplyDeleteMy husband, I have not seen without some sort of facial hair. I wouldn't mind his mustache if he always kept it trimmed so it wouldn't go up my nose when we kiss!
My husband has done the beard thing, but only once a tiny little mustache....I myself have quite the infatuation with the mustache....I have a lot of mustache trinkets...thanks for the awesome give-a-way...BTW I ♥ your blog:)
ReplyDeleteMy mustache man would be my papi. He's had a mustache since I can remember : )
ReplyDeletemy dad use to have a moustache and just recently shaved it off... my hubs would LOVE to grow a 'stache, but alas has been cursed with the asian inability of growing one! LOL
ReplyDeleteall the men in my life have had moustaches :) love them!
ReplyDeleteok I just have to comment on those photos of your hubby..i freakin LOVE them. super cool, hope you framed them and put them up, i love the transition in styles!
ReplyDeletei love these! my husband is always lamenting about the fact that he can't grow a mustache but if he could i would prefer "the rock star"!
ReplyDeleteI boyfriend has what I call a "technicolor beard" (and mustache)....It has white, blonde, red and brown!
ReplyDeleteI like the Rock Star! I wish there's one like Salvador Dali's!! :D
ReplyDeleteI've just re-discovered your blog via skunkboy creature & now I'm hooked! Your whole family is oh so cute!! Really happy for you!
Love the connoisseur!
ReplyDeleteI had a big bearded Alaska man in my life, until we moved back down south into the heat again. The beard had to go. Here he is with the beard.

oh fun! i don't have moustachioed man in my life, but i think he'd look great in the box car. :|)
ReplyDeleteLove the family moustache shot! My hubs has a short beard/moustache right now and I'm loving it.
ReplyDeleteYes! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI am mighty jealous (and strangely proud at the same time) that I cannot participate in Movember with my partner. He grows one real well, and me... well I've got too much estrogen I guess. But hey, a moustache on a stick would let me participate along with him!
Hope I win.
Movember.......come on Ben - grow a moustache!
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a moustache all of my childhood. He shaved it off one day when I was 18 - both my mum and my brother came home and didn't even notice...I did straight away. I told a school friend (my dad had been a teacher at my school) that my dad had shaved off his moustache and her response was - but your dad doesn't have a moustache....funny things those moustaches!
this is so cute! haha a couple of my friends have participated in Movember and they definitely had photos of funny 'staches made from their crazy beards.
ReplyDeletei've always been a fan of the wisp 'stache. it looks so old school!
my husband has never grown one.. but I do love his goatee!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend doesn't really have a mustache, but when we had a poker night and needed to have a 20's costumes - he rocked the mustache there!

My husband has been doing Movember for years. Loves it. We actually decided this summer that my 3 year old's bday was a moo-sta-shio theme! Too funny!
ReplyDeletehahahahaha ^_^ these are too cute!!! x

Yep, my man has a mustache, prickly, but wouldn't have him any other way.
ReplyDeletei don't have a man with a mo but i do love art and the work of dali (the master of moustaches), so the closest to his has to be the abrakadabra! too fancy!
ReplyDeleteMy guy used to be able to grow a mustache (and little beard) and I always loved it, but now due to work he has to stay clean shaven--boo!
ReplyDeleteAww, the family picture is adorable! I don't have a man in my life that has a moustache yet, however -- I do love the Abrakadabra moustache.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'd play around with my future's hubby's moustache all day long if he had that.
my partner has a stache + beard. i love it. i guess itd be like that first shot of ben. i used to hate when he shaved, because the next day it was always itchy to kiss ;)
ReplyDeletethe connoisseur is my favorite :) I actually painted it on my little man tonight before we went on a halloween outing (he was dressed as a pirate)!! ♥erica
ReplyDeleteno mustached man for me, but I love "the regent" mustache!
ReplyDeleteMy husband can't seem to grow a mustache:) I like the "rock star".
ReplyDeleteYour little ones are too cute :) I do have a few mustached men in my life and my favorite is my hubby's (his comes complete with a beard ;). I've never know him without it!
ReplyDeleteLove these! My father-in-law just shaved his off not too long ago and I really can't get used to it. It's weird how it becomes a part of who they are!
ReplyDeleteThey have not heard of Movember in Zambia. . .I'll see if the bf is able to start a trend though (trying to convince him to grow "the trucker"). :)
ReplyDeletethose photos of your husband made me laugh out loud. So good.
ReplyDelete-Brittan
Last night my dad and I were watching some old home videos and man oh man he was the kind of the stache back in the day. I don't remember a time when he didn't have a stache and to this day he still struts his stuff with a face full of scruff!
ReplyDeletemialovesgod(At)yahoo(dot)com
My husband has a mustache (and a huge beard) :) He was born with a cleft lip/palette and so he started growing a mustache as soon as he was old enough to shave, to cover his scar. I love his big bushyness :)
ReplyDeleteMy dad has had a mustache pretty much since the 70s. My mom said that after they were married for a year (they married in 1971) that he shaved it off and she thought he was sick because she hadn't noticed that it was just his mustache missing that she had never seen him without. She told him to never shave it off again and he hasn't. Therefore my whole life he's had a mustache. It was always a little odd to me so I actually HATE mustaches on guys hahaha (I love my dad though). I hate when my husband has one for even a day haha. Thankfully he doesn't like them either though. I am all about side burns but after a few years of him having them, he decided he likes it better completely shaved. Oh well. Maybe one day us ladies will win!
ReplyDeletemy husband has a full beard, which does include a moustache.
ReplyDeleteMy dad has had a mo and beard my whole life (25 years) and the only reason he would shave them off is for charity. He is a champ!
ReplyDeleteIf I have a mustached man in my life,.... I would love the 'busybodiesss' (I just made that up)! It is when, every strand of the stache have their own personality, and goes wherever they want individually! It'll be so easy to relate to this mustached man, as it can relate to us, the mo sistas, who have that change in personality, on that certain time of the month! It's cool to look at gaze on those, and get confused altogether...
ReplyDeletePS: I doubt my boyfriend would even consider, even if it is growing proper mustache, in name of the MOvember..
I have a moostached and goatied husband who only yesteday decided to a little trim... he has only once in 8 years shaved them off entirely after a comment from someone who said he looked 'old' then he looked like a 12 year old and i told him he cant shave it ever again!! ;-) love movember though its such a great cause. One of our friends suffered stage 4 (I THINK) Prostate cancer and survived!!! so we will do something special this movember for him.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a mustache the entire time I was growing up. He saved it when it started to turn grey though. Yeah for Movember!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a 'stache and a beard. I love my scruffy man!
ReplyDeletemy husband rocks a mustache and a beard year long, Although if I let him he would just rock the stache'. I love the beard along with it though. <3
