outside

I'm here. The past few days I have been busy here just being mom. Always something to clean or do and never ending lists. I am not complaining, it is all just part of the job description, in which I will happily oblige. I have also been praying to God to give me more of a desire to spend time in his Word, so I have been working on that too. Sometimes action comes when you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Thus, I was/am sick and tired of just being a complacent Christian that I figured I better get my butt moving and ask God to really help me! You know what I mean?

I cleaned up our front porch as weather is really nice these days. I know, I know, you are all thinking "these days" as weather is always nice in California. Yes, I admit most of the time it is, but it has been exceptionally nice to be outside weather, so I wanted to start getting things ready so we can spend more time outside. After all, with three kids 4 and under, I never take them out of the house alone, so the least I could do is let them run around outside a bit more.

So what do we do outside with nice weather and a clean porch? Why, we paint of course! We also blew bubbles.

  1. i know as christian we all desire to spend more quality time with him and His word. there are really good seasons when we do and then we have those dry seasons. i know it's not an excuse but with 3 little ones time quickly goes by.

  3. not too sure how i came upon your blog but im so happy i did. you have been quite encouraging as another christian mommy blogger. this post really spoke to me at the beginning. im at that point of being sick and tired. thanks for umph to not be sick and tired and do something about it. i read about true's 4th bday and this made me smile: "...We love you and pray that God will start preparing the soil of your heart to understand the truth of the gospel and your need for Jesus!" we pray this for our daughter...
    thanks again.

  7. Ruby,
Thank you so much for sharing your always lovely thoughts.

I have felt like that so much this week.
    OVERWHELMED.

He promised He would never ask more of us than we were able to handle.

    And that is grace.
    Hallelujah.

  12. I get so sick of being a complacent Christian as well. I don't know why it's so hard for me to spend time with God. I put way too many things in front of Him. I pray that you will continue to grow in your faith! Thanks for sharing!

  13. i'm just a random reader, but fellow sister in Christ up in Northern CA, but i so love reading your blog and i love your transparency... i love what paul says in I Cor. 9:24 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it."

that really convicted me a couple of years ago and I asked myself the question, "am i one of those people who enter marathons just happy to complete it, but aren't really competing." once i really dug in and started to run as if to win a prize, i have been totally amazed at what the Lord has done in my life.

<3 i am excited for you... i love that the Lord is faithful to bring us to where He wants us to be. blessings!
