Christmas is way over, but I loved our Christmas card too much not to share. Actually, I am horrible at planning Christmas cards and never get around to it until it is much too late, so when True came to me and showed me her drawing, I said, "That's it! That's our card!"
I gave it to Ben, he scanned it, digitalized it, added a greeting, and we got ourselves a card! It was perfect! Too bad, I never really sent any out, but just handed it out to those friends and family that we did see, so consider this my late Christmas card to everyone who reads this blog!
And just so you could see the original, here it is...
Kid art is just the absolute best! I have one more Christmas-related post coming, which is the handmade gifts Ben and I made each other. I am in love with what Ben made me and I can't wait to share it!
Are you good at planning Christmas cards?
I love kid art so much! We did "color your own" Christmas cards this year and would you believe I forgot to hand them out? I was handing cards out on new years day! Lol
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome, awesome idea! Love it!
ReplyDeleteaDORABLE!!! Really neat Idea Ruby!!
ReplyDeleteRuby how precious. Kids art is so free and expressive. I wish that I had more preserved from when my girls were little. I used to find most of it scrunched up at the bottom of their school bags :(
ReplyDeleteAwwww, how cute is this!!! I love it! Ayoung artist in the making for sure! =)

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is the most perfect Christmas card ever! You should frame the original--it's so precious!
ReplyDeleteTO humor you and Ben, I just sent you our ATTEMPTED family photo we tried for our holiday card. So we failed first time so we had to wait until someone else can take a photo of our family so our cards went out late too. lol did you guys get it?!?!
ReplyDeleteYour card is adooorraabllleee <3
love your card! the drawing is amazing. an idea for next year if you do something similar--you can get color xerox copies at kinkos very affordably. this is how i used to make cards (before tiny prints etc.) they will print onto card stock too.
ReplyDeletewhat a happy family!! my hubby is a counselor and he can interpret children's drawings. I'm pretty sure he would have great things to say about this one. so precious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super, fantastic, awesome Christmas card! One of the merriest ones I've seen this year!
ReplyDeletemegan- i would love to hear what he says. i am kinda nervous though!
ReplyDeleteEach year our family takes a Christmas- themed photo to stick on the front of our card. This year the kids were inn keepers and our baby was a random animal in the stable. It's abit of fun and a tradition I hope we can continue until the kids say it's too daggy!
ReplyDeleteBeing an elementary school art teacher I get to see kids art all day long but it still makes me smile everytime :) I love to see parents who cherish their children's artwork.
ReplyDeleteDUDE! she is soooooo good! :) i love all her little details- from the different clothes you are all wearing to your different faces. super cute!
ReplyDeleteI love things with my kid's art on it. I received a calendar this year from my son with a picture he drew for each month. And I have a set of stationary with pictures my other son drew on each one. Love them--my most favorite gifts!
ReplyDeleteSo creative! Kid art was (seriously) one of the reasons I decided to be a teacher!
