FLOORS

house stuff
Oh man. We were supposed to be done with the floor construction yesterday, but the contractor did a no-show. That's no bueno. In fact this is his fourth no-show, so you can imagine how frustrated we are. Despite our frustrations, most everything is done and I love my floors. They are so pretty.

The picture shows the progression from carpet to the white oak to the white-stained white oak. It's as dreamy as I imagine white floors to be. Now if we can just get that contractor to finish and put up the baseboards... argh! Once we are settled, you can be sure there will be a house tour.

We had a nice long weekend over here thanks to all those who serve our country bravely, but it is back to school and work for everyone tomorrow. Hope you all had a swell weekend and no contractors left you hanging!

  2. I just remembered you told the girls they could have a pet when you got wood floors.

    You got wood floors.
    Let's hope they don't remember.

  4. Your house is so lovely, and I love white floors. I look forward to seeing how easy they are to clean with kiddos. I have four kids and I am trying to convince my husband we can do white floors when we buy a home, he thinks not. Hopefully my dream comes true.

  8. That floor is amazing!!! Such a good choice, even if you have to clean it a bit more often from seeing the dirt, its worth it in my book. And hopefully those kids don't remember about the dog :)

    1. i got a way out when it comes to the dog... the WHOLE house has to be hard wood floors! we are doing the house in phases and there is still carpet on the stairs and upstairs, so i don't have to worry just yet. ;)
