VINTAGE HERE, VINTAGE THERE: PUMPKIN PATCH EDITION

pumpkin patch 2011
Pumpkin patches. Who doesn't love them?! They are so pretty with all the orange and green. We go every year and each year it is quite special. Though, the girls seemed to be more intrigued by the little parking lot patch just around the corner from our house, so we will have to bring them by sometime this week. I did make them that promise, so we better be sure to keep it. I think that big jumper house is what has them enticed.

Elsie had this DIY wool poncho and once I saw it it, I knew I had to make a teeny version. Of course I wasn't going to go out and buy wool just for it, so I chopped away at one of my old vintage wool skirts and turned it into a cute little poncho just for Soulie.

Glow is still teeny tiny so she didn't get in too many pictures. She's there though and wherever we all go, she goes too. We are a family of six and we all like to be together. Well, I have to admit that there are times I just need to be alone or have Ben take the big girls out just so I can get things done or have some peace, but really, it is better to do things as a family.

Have you been to a pumpkin patch yet this month? We have never carved a pumpkin together as a family. Can you believe that? We must definitely try to do it this year.

Some pretties to wear to a pumpkin patch: sweater cape, harvest cape, knit pullover, yellow gingham, and moccasins.

Rachel and her loves all went to the pumpkin patch too! She just got her new e-course out which she was been slaving away at, so I am glad to hear that they all went out to have some fun and relax. That lady deserves it! Have you seen her Baby on the Way E-course?!! I have and it is amazing!!!

  5. You + your girls are looking super cute {as always}!

I just went to the pumpkin patch recently myself, but it's already pretty chilly here in New England, so I really had to pile on the layers. Have a look if you're interested!

  9. Just curious- I've been researching Native Appropriation and I was wondering what your views are on it? So many bloggers and "handmaders" seem to be sticking feathers on things and wearing moccasins and whatnot...just curious as to how you feel about the topic. Is it over thinking, or do you feel it is something one must really consider?

  11. So envious of your pumpkin patches. Here in Australia it is about $25 for EACH pumpkin, just to carve.

  14. It's so interesting how different your girls all look from each other, while still looking so similar! They're all so beautiful, but I must admit, over the few months I've been reading your blog, Soul has especially captured my heart.

What little darlings you have. I'm sure you hear that on a regular basis, but as a mom I'm sure you still can't get enough! :)

  17. Hi! I've been reading for a little while now, but this is my first comment. Congratulations on the newest little one, your family is lovely! All your pictures are just adorable, but the first one really pulled on my heart strings - my husband and I met ten years ago while we were going to school at Cal Poly. We haven't been there since 2003, and oh my, how I would love to visit.
