the story of the weekend

Sunday we left the flea market and as we were driving away, True says, "Mommy! The O is stuck in my nose!" Sure enough, I look back and see one nostril is indeed a bit bigger than the other.

Ben and I quickly tell her, "Blow your nose!"

She tries, but doesn't know how to blow her nose. Then we tell her, "Press one side down and try to blow out the open one." We are both a smidge bit frantic as we are trying to guide her and after a couple attempts, I see this piece of O (cheerio) fly out of her nose onto her lap.

I exclaim, "It came out!" Just as I say that, I see True grab the O from her leg and put it in her mouth and eat it.

I yell with a huge burst of laughter, "Ben! She ate the O!" Simultaneously, Ben and I say, "Nasty!!!" We all drive off onto the freeway in a roar of laughter at the funny little episode that just took place.

  1. Kids will be kids! You have to remind her of this incident when she is all grown up!

  2. hahaha hilarious story! reminds me of a story of my sister-in-law when she was a kid -- she somehow got a marble stuck in her nose & couldn't get it out. she was crying & crying & my father-in-law had to massage it out a little bit at a time. kids manage to do the craziest things!

  12. I think every kid sticks something up their nose. For me, it was a GRAPE. My brother? A peanut.

  13. Waste not, want not. Hilarious!

Lucy came home from a walk the other day with her Dad announcing she did 'poos at the park like a doggie'. The shame of it (though there was no toilet there, and you know when a child has to go...). I'm SO glad I wasn't there to be a part of it.

  14. Hilarious! Yes, kids are funny...and gross..and great :) At least it wasn't something worse- eraser, dime, etc. In the grand scheme of "things you can shove up your nose" you guys lucked out with the Cheerio :)

  16. Hopefully that's the last time she sticks something up there, cause she won't think it's very funny anymore when she's sitting at the doctor's office! A kid sees a Cheerio, she eats it--it's all very simple in their little world. Love it.
