SWEET HAPPENINGS

love day makingslove day makingslove day makingslove day makingslove day makings
There was a lot of happy heart crafting this week and picking flowers outside in between. We made love day bags and then worked on cards for True's class (she goes to regular school one day a week and homeschooled the rest).

I look at these pictures and they just look so sweet, but they also make me laugh cause this week I had one tough day with the girls and when Ben came home, I was on the verge of tears and saying, "It is too hard to be a mom! I can't do it." It was definitely one really rough day and I had a lot of anger and frustration. It made me want to throw in the towel, have Ben stay home, and me join the working-out-of-home workforce.

Now as I reflect back on the week and remember the sweet moments of making things together, reading together, them bringing me flowers, I am reminded that I really do want to stay home and that even when there are super rough moments, there is also a lot of sweet ones too. No one said motherhood was going to be a piece of cake. I just gotta keep working at it and through it with God's help of course (cause when you leave Him out, oh man, you are in for a doozy!). It is kinda like marriage. Lots of work filled with ups and downs!

  1. This looks so sweet! And I know you've probably heard this over & over again, but your girls will remember these fun times, not the bad moments. You might shout at them or get frustrated, but, speaking for myself at least, I remember best the times when my mum was making things with me and when we were just doing fun things.

  2. I feel that way sometimes, too.. and when I come to my senses I remember motherhood is God's gift to me and its a privilege to be able to raise them & teach them myself. Like all jobs, there are bad days...days you dont want to show up...days you think will never end. Glad you are so honest...Its nice to know other mama's feel the same as i do sometimes.

  4. Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts. I'm a homeschool mama too and sometimes it can get tough. But I continually remind myself that children are blessing from God. He has loaned them to us for a time. I try to rejoice in motherhood and to think positive at all times. And this can be really hard!

  6. I know how you feel. I have four kids too and homeschool. Some days, I want to ship them off to school and quit. But once my sanity returns, I am so thankful for the choices we've made. I guess these days happen to us all ;)

  7. Very sweet! Glad you hung in there this week! If I had a dollar for every time I wanted to collapse on the ground, sob and give up...I'd probably be able to afford a nanny!

  8. I've recently found your blog and love every little bit of your posts! I have just had my third baby (1week yesterday!)...3 under 4years, and have been feeling many of the same feelings you've just shared. It is so easy for a beautiful blog such as this to make a mother feel like your life is beautiful and fun all the time...thank you for your honesty and willingness to share the rough patches of motherhood. It is a wild ride but SO rich!
